Things to Do in Minsk
For the young at heart, the city offers many places to let the proverbial hair down at night, notably Sweet & Sour — a reputable cocktail bar where the best drinks are kept off the menu. Minsk is also something of a shopper’s super-highway, with the Stolitsa Shopping Centre and Minskikh Maestroy, a huge outdoor souvenir market offering a range of gifts. Pick up some Soviet posters, antique coins, or whatever takes your fancy. Whilst you are in Minsk, take a day trip out to Mir Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This incredible 16th century fortification is one of the most important attractions in Belarus. Spend the day strolling through the beautiful gardens and admiring the huge artificial lake.
